Cosmology Lesson conducted by Yi Ming and Jia Chen
We had a cosmology lesson about the universe's evolution from the beginning of the Big Bang up till today. It was interesting to learn how theoretically, the universe went through a period of inflation that created today's natural universe and laws in the span of 0.00000000000000000000000000000001 seconds.
We also learned more about some significant astronomical discoveries that shaped the way we view astrophysics today such as Copernicus' and Galileo's theories postulating that the earth was round in the 1500s and 1600s.
Lastly, we learned about how the universe will meet the unavoidable void of death. However, there are still debates about how the universe will end, whether through the Big Freeze or Big Rip. The big freeze theory, ironically also known as the heat death, posits that the universe will keep expanding which causes the temperature of the universe to keep dropping, allowing no room for usable energy to exist. We learned more about these theories before we got into groups to research more about a particular theory and creating a Kahoot Quiz about it :D
